Localization

Firewall Builder 4 and 5 use QT4 and translation should be done using QT tool Linguist. The source code in the latest archive, for example fwbuilder-5.0.0.3568.tar.gz, has all the files you need to do it. Here is the link to the online guide to Linguist: http://doc.trolltech.com/4.1/linguist-translators.shtml and link to the online Linguist Manual: http://doc.trolltech.com/4.3/linguist-manual.shtml. Linguist runs on any supported OS (Linux, Windows, Mac OS X) so the translation can be done on any one of them.

A note to translators: please do this only if you have experience with QT Linguist and related tools and procedures. I rely on translators for the localization to be done right. I can not help you or verify your work. If you translate something incorrectly, your fellow users who run the program in your language will get confused or will simply laugh. I can't help it if this happens, except to remove the translation from the package.

I know translation is not easy, it is a hard and slow work. I include new translations as they become available in the follow-up releases that I make about once a month or every other month. The first “official” release of the new major version is usually likely to come out without localization because of this.
